This site is organized into several sections that are listed by starting with the
most recent items. The recommended method for navigation is to select the topic
you are interested and jump to it using the following links rather than scrolling

The Mission:
This site supports the East County Trails Preservation Group
- It serves as a resource for information, events and contacts related
to the effort to establish a TrailsMap for San Diego County's - East County.
- Collect and identify existing and historic trails
- Sustain the goal of creating and maintaining a TrailsMap.
- Support the general effort of the Lakeside citizens to maintain
its rural horse-town atmosphere
- The narrow name "LakesideTrails" was selected in hopes of inspiring other
east county communities and interest to create similar sites.

- Tuesday August 15th, 2000: County department of planning and land use to decide
on the BIO-RAPTOR SOIL REMEDIATION FACILITY, located at the north end of the Morena
Vally near Vigilante Road. This is where contaiminated soil will be cleaned which is
trucked in from all parts of the county, e.g. the toxic soils from the San Diego
Harbor dreging.

- Friday August 11th, 2000: Deadline for to get your name on the November ballot for
the Lakeside Community Planning Group. There are eight positions open, two of those are
not to be contested by the incumbents. Applications need to be filled out in person at
the registrar of voters office, 5201 Ruffin Rd. San Diego, just west of Hwy 15 on the
Clairemont Mesa Blvd exit.

Due to the postponed Board of Supervisors meeting today, and a lack of
a possible decision on the proposal from the Planning Commission, CASTOR now
has the opportunity to bring his most recent building project for the
Riverford Road area to the Lakeside Design Review Board. CASTOR will be
bringing his project up tonight, Wednesday June 14, at 7:05 PM. We could
use your help to keep CASTOR under the rules of the current Specific Plan.
Otherwise, we may get another envelope factory. Hope to see you there tonight.
The meeting will be at the Lakeside Community Center. Please try to come;
this is exactly how the envelope factory snuck in!

cancelled until Aug. 9th at 9am. With signs up all over town and buses available, please call everyone you know that may be planning on
